Substitute Opportunities

In order to become a substitute teacher, applicants need to have completed 48 or more credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university, (Valid Texas teaching certificate Preferred).

If you have less than 48 college hours, and/or a high school diploma or GED, you are eligible to substitute as teacher aides.

    Step 1 - Submit an Online Application:  Click Here (or ask for a paper copy)
                        The Reference section must include three (3) references with phone 
                        numbers. One must be a previous employer that can be contacted.
    Step 2 - Submit Official Transcripts
                        Transcripts must indicate hours or degrees awarded. 

    Step 3 - Complete Pre-Employment Documents

    Step 4 - Background Clearance and fingerprint completed

    Step 5 - Attend Substitute Workshop.

                 The next Substitute Workshop will be on Friday, January 12th and 26th, 2018 from
                  1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

    Step 6 - Prepare to Receive Jobs
                        CISD currently uses AESOP to view and receive jobs.
