Commencement for Castleberry High School and REACH High School will be held at the Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. This is a momentous occasion for your son or daughter and we would like to congratulate you on this important accomplishment. Here is some important information that will be helpful for you and your graduate as we approach this exciting day.

Tickets for Graduation

Senior, family, and guest tickets to enter the graduation ceremony at Texas Motor Speedway must be picked up at Castleberry High School on Tuesday, June 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Each senior will receive one ticket to enter Texas Motor Speedway. Each senior will also be given four family and guest tickets to enter. One ticket is good for one vehicle. Therefore, each senior will be allowed four guest vehicles. Parents are allowed to drop off their senior at Texas Motor Speedway if their senior does not drive.

Graduation Location and Arrival Times

  • Graduates must arrive by 5:00 p.m. 
  • Rehearsal for graduates and faculty begins at 5:30 p.m.
  • Guests may start arriving at 5:00 p.m.
  • Graduation ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m.

Graduation Dress Expectations

Cap and gown senior regalia.

Men: White collared shirt with tie, dark slacks, and dress shoes

Ladies: School appropriate dress, or slacks/top. Ladies please be cautious of wearing heels because there will be a lot of walking.

Facemasks will be provided and must be worn at all times. Exceptions only for official graduation photos and receiving diplomas.

The following dress will not be allowed for graduates

  • No flip flops or athletic shoes may be worn.
  • No alterations to the cap and gown will be allowed.
  • No facial piercings.
  • No unnatural hair color.
  • Cell phones will not be permitted during the ceremony.

Graduates who do not follow the dress code will not walk

Graduates - Do not bring the following

  • Food or beverages- eat before you arrive
  • No cell phones, headphones, or earbuds
  • leave purses, cameras, cell phones, and other personal belongings at home or in car.
  • Anything that could be used to detract from the ceremony in any way.

We will collect cell phones before the ceremony and hold them for you until after the ceremony. Faculty will be checking pockets and purses; gowns/hats.

COVID-19 Safety Precautions

All students will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19. If students show any signs, symptoms, or answer yes to any of the screening questions, they will not be allowed to walk based on guidance from the Texas Education Agency. Facemasks will be provided and must be worn at all times. Exceptions only for official graduation photos and receiving diplomas.

Expectations After the Ceremony

  • Graduates will recess to student parking lot at Texas Motor Speedway.
  • Graduates are expected to leave the premises at the conclusion of the ceremony.
  • Family and guests are expected to leave the premises at the conclusion of the ceremony.
  • Ensure all trash is taken with you.
  • Graduates, family and guests should follow all road signs and traffic personnel when exiting the venue.

Social Distancing

It is critically important to follow all social distancing protocols. Stay six feet apart at all times. That means group gatherings and selfies inside a six-foot radius is strictly prohibited. We understand the joy and excitement of your high school graduation ceremony, but please consider your health and well-being as well as that of your fellow graduates, and their family/friends.

Tickets and Parking

Tickets are required to enter the facility for each graduation. To expedite entry, please have your ticket available to present to security stationed at the entrance to the South Tunnel (from Allison Avenue off Highway 114). Student parking is located in the South Paddock of the infield (driver's left after driving through the South Tunnel). Family/guest parking is located in the Infield Campground/Road Course area, on driver's right after driving through the South tunnel, directly in front of Big Hoss TV (the big-screen TV on the east side of the track).

Entering the Facility

Access into the infield will be allowed via the South Tunnel. This entrance is located off of Highway 114, or the south side of the property between the two large buildings which are the Lone Star Tower and the Speedway Club. Vehicles more than 8 feet 6inches tall are prohibited from entering the infield of the race track.

Infield Seating Requirements and Audio

To comply with guidelines established by the CDC and Denton County Judge Andy Eads, please stay in your vehicle for the duration of the graduation ceremony. Guests are allowed to sit in the bed of a pickup truck, but not outside the vehicle. In-venue audio of each graduation ceremony can be heard on 97.7 FM.

Concessions/Flower Sales

  • There will be no flower sales on site.
  • Concession stands will not be open.
  • Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted.
  • Alcohol is not permitted

Restrooms

  • Minimal restroom access will be available.
  • You are highly encouraged to use the restroom before you enter the facility.

Restricted Items

  • RVs, motorhomes, busses, limos, and any oversized vehicle
  • Grills, smokers, and tailgating of any kind
  • Balloons, beach balls, silly string, bubbles, glitter, and frisbees
  • Confetti and confetti cannons
  • Non-service animals
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Laser pointers
  • Drones
  • Tripods/Selfie Sticks
  • Alcohol
