Description

K-8 Summer School is a remediation program designed to serve students who have not mastered reading and math content and skills. Students invited to attend Remote Summer School will receive small group instruction that addresses their individual deficiencies based on district and state assessments. Parents may drive through to pick up lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the following day from 11:30 to 12:30, Monday through Thursday at CHS, CE, and JJE. Meals for the Weekend will be available on Thursdays.


High School Summer Credit Recovery

Audience

Grades 9th through 12th by campus invitation

Description

Credit Recovery for grades 9th through 12th provides an opportunity for CISD students to regain lost credit due to failing grades or lack of course attendance. Students will learn remotely using a blended learning program with Edgenuity and remote teacher support.  Parents may drive through to pick up lunch, dinner and breakfast for the following day from 11:30-12:30, Monday-Thursday at CHS, CE and JJE. Meals for the weekend will be available for pick up on Thursdays.


Pre-K and Kindergarten English Language Learners (ELL) Summer Academy

All Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students identified as English Language Learners

The PK-Kindergarten ELL Virtual Summer Academy is designed to ensure English learners have an opportunity to receive special instruction to prepare them to be successful in Kindergarten and Grade 1. The instruction is focused on language development and essential knowledge and skills appropriate to the level of the student. Parents may drive through to pick up lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the following day from 11:30 to 12:30, Monday through Thursday at CHS, CE, and JJE. Meals for the weekend can be picked up on Thursdays.


5th Grade SSI Summer School

Audience

5th Grade students who did not pass Reading and/or Math STAAR during the current school year.

Math: June 23rd
Reading: June 24th
Make-up: June 25th and 26th

Description

The 5th Grade SSI Summer School program is designed to ensure that all students receive the instruction and support they need to be academically successful in reading and mathematics as demonstrated by attaining a passing score of the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness. The instruction is focused on each child's individual area of need. Breakfast and lunch are served daily to all students at no cost to parents.
