How old does my child need to be to enroll in Kindergarten?

Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1 to enroll in Kindergarten.

When can I pre-register my child for Kindergarten?

Online pre-registration begins April 1. Parents will finalize registration in July.

What documents are required for pre-registration?

  • Parent/Guardian ID
  • Birth Certificate
  • Student's Social Security Card
  • Immunization Record
  • Proof of Residency (gas bill, water bill, electric bill, or lease agreement)

If there are no open spots at a school what do I do?

We will help you find a campus that still has available spots.

Do I have to live in the Castleberry ISD attendance zone for my child to attend Kindergarten?

You do not have to live within the Castleberry ISD attendance zone for your child to attend Kindergarten. However, you must complete an Out of District Transfer Application.

Who receives priority?

Priority is given to students who reside in the neighborhood of the campus (proof of residence required).

Can my child attend the same school for first grade if we have an out of district transfer?

Parents of out of district students must complete an Out of District Transfer Application for each school year.

Is transportation provided for out of district transfers?

Transportation is not provided for Kindergarten students who live outside of the Castleberry ISD attendance zone.

How long is the school day?

All Castleberry ISD Kindergarten classes run from 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM.
