The Castleberry ISD Career and Technology Advisory Board held its first of two yearly meetings virtually on December 1, 2020 with 21 members in attendance. CTE teachers from both the Middle School and High School were recognized so new board members could understand their programs and meet our amazing teachers.

Industry members from Construction, Audio Visual Communications, Finance and Banking, and the Tarrant County Workforce were all present. Program Advisory boards effectively support successful Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The primary purpose of these Program Advisory boards is to serve as a resource and a connection to the workplace for CTE teachers and administrators. Program Advisory boards at the individual CTE program level can make important contributions by keeping faculty apprised of business and industry needs, providing professional development opportunities and assisting the school in planning and implementing relevant Career and Technical Education programs for students. Program Advisory boards are an important part of CTE. The expertise of individuals from business and industry plays an integral role in providing high-quality CTE programs, in addition to fostering the development of a trained and educated workforce.

Mrs. Rene Parker, Industry Services Unit Director at Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, provided a valuable resource for both our students and our community members. Workforce Solutions is proud to announce the launch of Career Coach, powered by EMSI. This amazing free online tool gives all Tarrant County residents the ability to research local careers and training programs like never before.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 20, 2002 at 5:30. The location is yet to be determined. If your business would be interested in serving on our district CTE Advisory board, please contact the district CTE Coordinator Mrs. Stephanie Martinez a [email protected]. The CISD CTE Advisory Board members are an invaluable resource in helping our entire community become more career and future ready. All local North Texas business and industry members are welcome and we encourage you to connect with this amazing program.
