CHS Cross Country at State UIL

Fall 2018 has been another great season for the Castleberry High School Cross Country teams. During the November CISD Board of Education Meeting Lenny Lasher, Executive Director of Student Services and Operations, recognized the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams and their coaches.

Bart Beasley, Head Cross Country Coach, was recognized for his hard work, dedication, and time commitment to the student-athletes at CHS. Assistant Cross Country Coach, Cameron Hartson, was also recognized for her outstanding work and her dedication to developing the student-athletes at CHS.

The Girls Cross Country team were the District 9-4A Champions for the third consecutive year and received their 6th district championship in the last 13 years. At the Regional meet, they placed 1st out of 24 teams, making them the 2-4A Champions and advancing the team to the state meet for the second consecutive year. They finished their season 9th overall in the state.

In the state of Texas there are 189 class 4A schools. the young men and women of Castleberry High Cross country were on of only 7 out of those 189 schools that were represented by both their boys & girls teams at teh UIL State Cross Country Meet. In the state of Texas there are a total of 1,370 high schools. Out of all of the high schools in Texas and across all classifications, only 32 were represented by both their boys and girls teams at the State Cross Country Meet. Mathematically speaking, they represent something that only 2% of all programs in the state accomplished this season.

Each of these student-athletes worked extremely hard and represented Castleberry ISD in an oustanding manner. In addition, their coaches know that the success of the program would not be possible without the dedication and support of the parents of these young men and women.
