Tax Rate

Each year the Tarrant Appraisal District (TAD) appraises residential and commercial property in the Castleberry ISD and submits the certified values to the District. Financial Services applies these values to determine the amount of property tax that will be collected for Castleberry ISD.

At the advertised Public Meeting in June the tax rate is proposed and the budget is adopted by the Board of Education. The tax rate will then be adopted by the Board of Education at the following August Board  Meeting.

Tax revenue falls into two general categories: Maintenance and Operations
(M & O) and Interest and Sinking (I&S) or debt service. M & O includes such things as salaries, utilities and day to day operations. Debt service covers the interest and principal on bonds and other debt secured by property tax revenues.

The rollback tax rate is the sum of the maximum M & O rate and debt service rate.

The tax billing and collections for Castleberry ISD are prepared by the Tarrant County Tax Office.
