| Castleberry ISD Public Hearing - District of Innovation
At their February 13, 2017, meeting, the Castleberry ISD Board of Education
adopted a resolution to begin the process of declaring their eligibility to become
a District of Innovation, the district held a public hearing at a Special Board
Meeting on Monday, February 27, 2017, at 5:30 pm in the Gary S. Jones
Administration Building Board room. The District of Innovation Committee
was approved and conducted their first meeting February 28, 2017
at 4:15 pm. The DOI committee made a majority vote to continue the DOI
process. The District of Innovation Plan and the minutes from the meeting are linked below.
HB 1842 was passed during the 84th Texas Legislative Session in Spring 2015.
The law allows traditional independent school districts to access most of the flexibilities
available to Texas' open enrollment.
