Castleberry ISD Welcomes Jennifer Jenkins Assistant Principal of Special Programs at Joy James Academy of Leadership

Castleberry ISD welcomes Jennifer Jenkins as the Assistant Principal of Special Programs and Joy James Academy of Leadership. Jenkins joins Castleberry ISD from White Settlement ISD where she served as an assistant principal for the past three years. She started her career in education 17 years ago as a paraprofessional for special education in Denton ISD. She then served as a special education teacher and coordinator in Burleson ISD for 14 years.

Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas Woman’s University. She also holds a Master of Education with an emphasis in Special Education from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Demonstrating a profound commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive, Jenkins brings more than just professional expertise to her interactions with students, families, and colleagues alike. Her genuine warmth and empathy create a nurturing and empowering atmosphere that supports student growth, confidence, and independence. In 2014, she earned the campus Teacher of the Year award and later was recognized as Burleson ISD’s district Teacher of the Year. Throughout her career, Jenkins has served on the Texas Education Agency and Pearson’s Educator Committees for several years.

Jenkins and her husband, Brandon, have a daughter, Amelia (14), and are guardians to her sister-in-law with special needs, Christie. Jenkins loves watching her daughter compete in dance competitions and is looking forward to watching her perform with her high school drill team. Together they share a love for travel and make the most of every opportunity to explore new destinations together.

She is honored to be joining the Castleberry ISD family! Jenkins extends her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Castleberry ISD community to the Superintendent, Board of Education, and the Director of Special Programs.
