GT Referral Forms

Gifted and Talented Referral Process

Castleberry ISD accepts referrals for services in the Gifted and Talented Program annually. Eligible students must be currently enrolled in kindergarten through twelfth grade at CISD. Referrals may come from parents, teachers, administrators, counselors, or other interested persons. The person referring a student must complete a Gifted and Talented Referral Form for a student to be assessed and considered for the program services.

After assessment, if gifted and talented services are considered appropriate, the student will be placed in the Gifted and Talented Program during the spring semester, no later than March 1.

Gifted and Talented Transfer Students

Each district in Texas has a different Gifted and Talented program of services, so qualification for G/T services may or may not transfer from district to district.

Students identified for G/T services at a campus in Castleberry ISD will maintain program placement when transferring to another campus within the district.

Students identified for another district's program of service should advise campus personnel of their previous G/T participation upon enrollment. The Campus G/T Selection Committee will review the records to determine if the student's learning needs match Castleberry ISD's program of services. The Campus G/T Selection Committee may decide to accept the transfer or request additional testing. Please contact your school's guidance counselor for more information.
