Castleberry ISD welcomes Yesenia Serrano as the newest officer to join the district's police department, serving at Reach High School and Truce Learning Center. Officer Serrano comes to Castleberry ISD from Texas Health Resources Police Department, where she served as a police officer for the past year. She began her career in law enforcement seven and a half years ago as a patrol officer in Ferris, Texas, where she was named Rookie of the Year in 2016.

Officer Serrano holds an Advanced Peace Officer license. She is certified as a Field Training Officer and a Mental Health Peace Officer. Additionally, she has earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with cum laude honors from Texas A&M Commerce and an Associate of Arts from El Centro College. Serrano plans to continue her education and pursue a Master of Business Administration.

Throughout her professional journey, she has held a variety of positions that have formed her foundation as a true public servant. Prior to becoming a police officer, she worked for the Dallas Independent School District as a financial clerk. Officer Serrano and her husband have one daughter. In her spare time, she loves watching her daughter dance. She also enjoys spending time with family and roller skating.

Her goal is to develop relationships with the community she serves while providing safety and security to the students, staff, and visitors of Castleberry ISD. Officer Serrano is excited and ready to serve Castleberry ISD. She thanks the Superintendent and Board for the opportunity.
