Castleberry High School proudly announces its distinguished achievers for the class of 2024. At Monday night’s school board meeting, Principal Ruben Molinar revealed the valedictorian and salutatorian for this year: Evelyn Yvonne Garcia and Kristian Tyler Perez, respectively.

Castleberry ISD welcomes Rose Hill as the district’s new Behavior Interventionist. Hill joins Castleberry ISD from Lake Worth ISD where she served as a Behavior Specialist for the past year. She started her career in education 14 years ago as a Special Education Resource teacher in Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD

Castleberry ISD is thrilled to announce the promotion of Sara Horton as the district’s transition specialist. Immediately following college, Horton started her career in education at Castleberry Independent School District. She has served the district for the past 4 years in the roles of Community Based Instruction (CBI)/Life Skills Teacher and the Special Education Department Head at Castleberry High School.

Kristen Schmitt Promoted to ELA Coordinator [grades 3-5]
Castleberry ISD is thrilled to announce the promotion of Kristen Schmitt as the district’s new ELA Coordinator for grades 3-5. Schmitt has served the Castleberry Independent School District for the past five years, most recently as Literacy Instructional Coach. Prior to her most recent role, Schmitt was a fourth grade ELAR teacher at Joy James Academy of Leadership. She started her career in education at Fort Worth ISD, where she was a kinder, third, and fourth grade teacher.

Ty Neal Promoted to Secondary ELA Coordinator
Castleberry ISD is thrilled to announce the promotion of Ty Neal as the district’s new Secondary Reading Language Arts Coordinator. Neal has served the Castleberry Independent School District for the past six years as an instructional coach and curriculum coordinator. Prior to joining Castleberry ISD, she started her career in education with Weatherford ISD where she was the English Department Chair.

Abigail Armenta Promoted to Secondary Academic and Instructional Mentor
Castleberry ISD is thrilled to announce the promotion of Abigail Armenta as the district’s new Secondary Academic and Instructional Mentor. Armenta has served the Castleberry Independent School District for the past five years as a Reading Interventionist at Irma Marsh Middle School in addition to coaching cheerleading at Castleberry High School. Immediately following college, she began her career in education here at Castleberry ISD and has worked diligently to implement successful interventions for middle school students along with growing the Castleberry ISD cheer program.

Castleberry ISD is proud to announce the annual spring art show, showcasing the talent and creativity of students in grades pre-K through 12! This year’s event will include two exhibits. The Secondary Art Show will feature artwork from Irma Marsh Middle School and Castleberry High School students, while the Elementary Art Show will highlight pieces from A.V. Cato Elementary, Castleberry Elementary, and Joy James Academy of Leadership. Both exhibits are free and open to the public!

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year is Underway
Castleberry ISD will continue to offer free, full-day pre-kindergarten (pre-K) and kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. Students do not need to live within the school district’s boundaries to attend Castleberry ISD. For the 2024-2025 school year, kindergarteners must be 5 years old, and pre-kindergarteners must be 4 years old as of September 1, 2024.
