Castleberry ISD announces Robert Garcia as the district's ACE program specialist.

Castleberry ISD is pleased to announce Robert Garcia as the district's 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) ACE program specialist. Garcia has served the Castleberry Independent School District for the past year as the ACE site coordinator at Castleberry High School. Prior to joining Castleberry ISD, Garcia started his career in education in Fort Worth ISD as a kindergarten teacher.

Over the past 23 years, Garcia has worked in several school districts, including Fort Worth ISD, where he taught multiple grade levels and served as a supervisor for the student intake center. In Dallas ISD, he taught various grade levels and held roles such as community liaison, district family mediator, and Family Engagement District Manager. He also served as a coordinator and teacher with the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program in Dallas ISD and later became the regional field operations specialist, overseeing early learners from ages 0-3 in 11 Texas cities. Garcia served as ACE program site coordinator positions previously in Birdville ISD and Fort Worth ISD.

Garcia retired from the United States Navy in 2000 with an honorable discharge after twenty years of service. His military career equipped him with leadership and training skills, and he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education and technology application.

Outside of work, Garcia enjoys swimming, staying active, and staying in touch with family and friends in his hometown of New York City. His favorite pastime is watching the Olympics, specifically swimming, soccer, and boxing events. He has three daughters, two of whom are pursuing careers in education: Brandi in Mansfield ISD and Jennifer with Region 11.

He is honored to continue serving students and families at Castleberry ISD as the ACE program specialist. Garcia finds inspiration in Steven Covey's quote, "Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs."
